Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb 450g ground beef
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cups 200g elbow pasta
  • 1 can 14 oz diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar
  • Salt and pepper

Method
 

  1. Brown the ground beef with the onion over medium-high heat to 160°F (71°C).
  2. Stir in pasta, tomatoes, broth, tomato paste and garlic powder.
  3. Cover and simmer 12–14 minutes, stirring, until pasta is tender.
  4. Stir in the cheddar until melted and creamy. Season and serve.

Notes

  • Add diced pickles and a squirt of mustard for real burger flavor.
  • Splash in a little milk if it gets too thick.
  • Top with more cheese and broil for a golden crust.
